My Magical Experience Working with Disney

Emmie and Doc!

Working with Disney was an absolute dream come true! For a few years, I had the privilege of being a series regular voice for Emmie on *Doc McStuffins*, one of Disney Junior’s groundbreaking shows. I started recording for the show nearly two years before it even aired, and it was amazing knowing that my voice would travel all the way to Ireland, where the animation studios brought the characters to life. Week after week, I had the honor of working closely with the incredible creator of *Doc McStuffins*, Chris Nee, whose passion and vision brought something truly special to each recording session.

Voiceover work was new to me when I started, but I quickly fell in love with it. Unlike on-camera acting, there’s no pressure to memorize lines or look camera-ready. I’d show up in my most comfortable clothes—no makeup, hair in a messy bun, feeling like I could truly be myself. Sometimes I’d think I looked like a total hobo, but that’s the beauty of voice acting! The focus was all on my voice and my character, and the relaxed atmosphere allowed me to truly let go and have fun.

Playing Emmie was a joy in itself, especially since I got to sing in some episodes! I even contributed some vocals to the show’s main theme song. The team had this hilarious nickname for Emmie’s laugh—calling it the “million-dollar laugh.” Whenever I did Emmie’s iconic giggle, everyone in the booth would burst out laughing. Those sessions were full of laughs, warmth, and memories that I’ll carry with me forever.

Working on *Doc McStuffins* marked such a magical time in my life, filled with special people and unforgettable experiences. I’m so grateful to Disney and to everyone I worked with on the show for making it feel like family. And who knows what the future holds? I’m manifesting my dream of working with Disney again—maybe next time as the voice of a Disney princess!
